i'm really sorry about your date gone bad. based on everything you said, i think this guy is a bit too unstable. i think you deserve much better than that. you are great and shouldn't have to deal with somebody else's stuff. you've really come a long way and having to deal with all kinds of crap that isn't yours and is impossible for you to control is not something you need. maybe this guy will redeem himself, maybe not. but you deserve better than such erratic behavior. it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong at all...just sounds like he is a bit of a nut-job. and you deserve a prince, really.
i would try not to be too sad about this. i know you had high hopes, but you're a prize and somebody who can appreciate that and not become all psycho WILL be along soon. i know that. maybe it's this guy and maybe it isn't. doesn't really matter, i think. you've been really patient and calm and rational with this one, and that is really nice to see. even if his neuroses can't be overcome, you've done everything you can. and, as you said, YOU'VE been the rational one in this situation. i'm proud of you. i really am.
